Back Bharti Chibber National Coordinator Sustainability Education Dr Bharti Chhibber is teaching in University of Delhi, India for more than seventeen years. She is a well-known academic, author, socio-political analyst, and an environmentalist working, extensively writing and speaking in India and abroad for many years in the field of international relations, foreign diplomacy, Sustainable Development Goals, gender, health issues, climate change, climate justice, refugees, environmental education, renewable energy, international environmental laws, waste management and biodiversity conservation. Dr Chhibber is a Climate Reality Leader and Honorary National Coordinator-Education for Environment Conservation and Sustainable Development at the Climate Reality Project India (TCPI). A meritorious scholar, Dr. Chhibber has pursued her B.A. Hons. and M.A. from Lady Shri Ram College, University of Delhi and M.Phil. and Ph. D. from Jawaharlal Nehru University, Delhi, India. Prof Chhibber has more than 150 published books, research papers and articles in national and international journals and mass media to her credit. She has been honoured with international and national awards, has received fellowships, worked on projects, mentored scholars, and is regularly invited as a subject expert in electronic and print media interviews and discussions. She has also worked extensively with other organizations to create awareness and empower people on environmental, educational and gender issues. Further, Dr. Chhibber wrote and directed plays on ‘Environmental Conservation’ and 'Women Rights' which were staged by college students and received wide appreciation. In addition to conferences, Dr. Chhibber has organised several field events for educators, students and experts like sapling plantation drive, and have also contributed to waste paper recycling, herbal garden, and waste to compost projects. Back Md. Shakhawat Chowdhury National Coordinator Md. Shakhawat Chowdhury is a veteran activist with over 17 years of experience in environmental protection, research programs and policy advising. His major area of expertise includes communication with class stakeholders, partnering with peer organizations, catering common interests and swiftly executing project objectives. He made notable contribution in base line data collection and supporting paramount scientific researches on micro plastic and marine debris in past decades. He partnered with Climate Reality during March 2016 and passionately facilitating CR movement in Bangladesh and neighboring region since then. Mr. Chowdhury is a lawyer by profession and tenured at an international law firm mostly advising and assisting cross border transactions and investments, mergers and acquisitions, regulatory and revenue, compliance and managements, managing energy and resources, power generation and supply businesses. He complements Environmental, Social and Governance - ESG in his own work and promotes among other legal practitioners. He was taught Environmental and Climate Change Laws at University of Cardiff. The Climate Reality Leadership Corps training is offered free of charge . However, participants will need to arrange for your own travel, any lodging necessary, and meals that are not covered during the event. We’ll send an email with the training location and accommodation recommendations to all accepted and confirmed participants so they can arrange and pay for their own expenses. Back G. Krishnakumar National Coordinator Just Transition He is an electrical engineer by education from NIT Calicut, having more than four decades of experience in industries, customer service and non-profit management. He got certified as energy auditor in 2006 & completed certifications in energy management and environment management systems, which introduced him to climate science. In 2015 he became a Climate Reality Leader at New Delhi. This training and exposure helped him to effectively organize many state, national and international workshops to disseminate sustainable energy related topics to different categories of audience – professionals, students , industry personnel and so on. In different capacities in Society of Energy Engineers and Managers (SEEM), he is instrumental in organizing international workshops in ‘hands on training in energy audit ‘ at JNPT, Mumbai in 2011 and another one on ‘"Evolving Energy Models in Emerging Economies-Post COP21’ at Ahmedabad in 2016. Both these events attracted international participation from about two dozen countries. Presently as General Secretary of SEEM, he have embarked on an ambitious project – ‘Decarbonization India Alliance (DIA) to accelerate India’s progress towards Net Zero goal of 2070.This envisages to bring on one platform, organizations which are required to reduce carbon emissions and those organizations and individuals who can facilitate emission reduction. Back Habiba Islam Shifat National Coordinator Habiba Islam Shifat is a political influencer, youth activist, and social change maker. She has worked with several public and private offices facilitating policy level changes directly improving lives of over 35,000 citizens living at her local constituency in Bangladesh. Her methods of collaboration with communities and tactics in meeting ground level obstacles, have always proved rewarding in achieving sustainable solutions towards project goals. Ms. Shifat joined CRP during 2016 through Manila Training and since then facilitating CR objectives with sheer competence. Alongside a loving mother, she is a practicing lawyer by profession. Post legal studies, she also post-graduated on Global Governance from a Welsh university. She is committed in making this world a better place for the generation next. Back Madhu Bhatnagar National Coordinator Sustainability Education Madhu Bhatnagar, Head of the Environment Consciousness Programme at The Shri Ram Schools and Consultant for Shri Educare Schools, has devoted 36 years to education, spearheading transformative environmental initiatives across India. Her pioneering work has profoundly influenced environmental consciousness in education, impacting over 200,000 students and training hundreds of teachers in groundbreaking ways. Even before the Supreme Court's 1994 mandate on environmental education, Ms. Bhatnagar made it a compulsory part of the curriculum, inspired by the first Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change report in 1990. She firmly believes in the role of schools in educating the broader community and society, and under her leadership, The Shri Ram Schools have become exemplars in sustainability. Key achievements include establishing water harvesting models, creating zero-waste zones, and implementing bans on firecrackers, polythene bags, and single-use plastics. In 2009, she introduced Vriksha Bandhan and developed a specialized Environmental Education Curriculum, now adopted by schools nationwide. A committed conservationist, Ms. Bhatnagar advocates the principle, "Give Nature Half, and it will balance itself." During the 2005 Tiger Crisis at Ranthambhore National Park, she played a crucial role in halting poaching by aiding in the rehabilitation of the Moghya tribals. Currently residing in DayalBagh, an Eco Village in Agra, she continues to volunteer with local schools, bridging societal gaps through education. Her remarkable contributions have earned her numerous accolades, including the Green Teacher National Award by Sanctuary Asia, the Eco-Warrior Award by the Vice President of India, and the Karamveer Chakra National Award by I-Congo and the United Nations. CLEAN KASHMIR The Clean Kashmir – Swachh Kashmir Campaign 2025, organized by The Climate Project Foundation, was conducted from 1st to 20th November 2025 to promote awareness and action on waste management among school students in Kashmir. The campaign engaged 32 schools and 384 students, who participated in structured activities within school premises and nearby communities. Students carried out cleanliness and waste segregation drives, organized rallies and workshops, and developed posters, videos, and street plays to spread awareness on responsible waste management. The initiative helped improve understanding of sustainable practices while encouraging teamwork, leadership, and community engagement among students. Top-performing schools—GHSS Rainawari (Srinagar), Bilaliya Educational Institute (Srinagar), and BHSS Kakapora (Pulwama)—were recognized based on their impact and participation. Overall, the campaign supported the development of responsible environmental behaviour while contributing to cleaner school and community spaces. VOICES OF KASHMIR Voices of Green Kashmir, organized by The Climate Project Foundation under the Green Campus Programme (GCP), was conducted from 15 December 2025 to 5 February 2026 across multiple districts in Kashmir. The initiative engaged students from government and private schools to document traditional sustainable practices through research and storytelling, connecting climate education with local culture and lived experiences. Students explored themes such as traditional architecture, agriculture, water conservation, crafts, and waste management by interacting with elders, artisans, and community members. Their submissions, ranging from written stories and photo essays to videos, artwork, and poetry, reflected both creativity and an understanding of sustainability rooted in everyday practices. The process also strengthened research, documentation, and communication skills among participants. The campaign concluded with the recognition of 10 student storytellers across junior and senior categories, selected for their originality and depth of work. Overall, the initiative highlighted the relevance of indigenous knowledge in addressing current environmental challenges while encouraging students to engage meaningfully with their communities. Nayeem Hossain Khan, hailing from Bangladesh, holds a Master's Degree in Soil Science from Soil, Water and Environment Discipline of Khulna University and a Bachelor's Degree in Soil Science from the National University of Bangladesh. He is the founder of EnvoEdu, an environmental education organization, demonstrating a commitment to innovation and sustainability. With a versatile skill set encompassing leadership, communication, and computer proficiency, he has actively engaged in over 10 social development organizations. Nayeem has showcased his leadership abilities as President of the Bangladesh Soil Club and in roles such as Divisional Coordinator at SERAC-Bangladesh NGO. His national and regional coordination experience includes serving as National Coordinator for the Termite Society and Chief Coordinator for 64D Initiatives. Moreover, he has advocated for youth engagement as a member of Global Platform Bangladesh. Nayeem's diverse training includes workshops on research, data analysis, tourism, and gender equity in climate change. His expertise spans climate change impacts on coastal areas, disaster management, land management, and environmental law. With a track record of effective planning, coordination, and project management, Nayeem Khan is poised to make significant contributions to environmental and social initiatives.
