The Global Week of Action is a global initiative of The Climate Reality Project that brings together its network to turn climate awareness into meaningful action. The 2026 edition marked 20 years of climate action and leadership, with a focus on building support for clean energy and healthier, more resilient communities.
Across India, students, educators, Climate Reality Leaders, institutions, and communities took action through clean energy campaigns, community outreach, biodiversity activities, waste management initiatives, and local advocacy.

From a Solar Demonstration to a Village-Wide Solar Vision
Sanjeevani Vidyalaya, Bhadkambe-Nagav, Sangli | Maharashtra
Teachers and students of Sanjeevani Vidyalaya visited the Gram Panchayat Office with a working solar energy model, demonstrating how rooftop solar can reduce electricity costs and support environmental sustainability. Students also submitted a memorandum encouraging greater awareness and adoption of clean energy solutions and the PM Surya Ghar Yojana.
The interaction sparked a discussion on expanding solar adoption across the village. With 18 households already having solar panels, the village leadership expressed a vision of working towards 100% solar-powered homes in Bhadkambe-Nagav.
Key Outcome
The initiative helped move the conversation from clean energy awareness to a long-term community vision for wider solar adoption.
