24 hours of reality- Let’s Get real
For 24 hours on October 29, former US Vice President Al Gore and Climate Reality Leader activists around the world led a Global Day of Action, demanding the real policy change required to cut fossil fuel emissions and transition to a just clean-energy economy.
South Asian leaders took an active part during 24 Hours of Reality with a palpable enthusiasm shown by newly trained leaders. They engaged with social media, newspapers and blog posts on their climate change story but were seen giving presentations also with in their friend and family networks as well. Seasoned leaders were seen engaging with corporates and other stakeholders. One of the highlights was meeting of our Leader Dr. PKC Bose with India’s Finance Minister Ms. Nirmala Sitharaman. He shared wind industry’s vision of a more sustainable path with a promise of more finance and opportunities made available to the sector from her. He also met the Union Minister of fisheries Parshottambhai Rupala. The objective was to introduce sustainability in water ways, fisheries using advanced technology composite boats and well-being for fishermen. Region specific call to action were assigned with India branch taking a lead with campuses (both schools and colleges) to pledge for carbon responsibility with in their own premises by adopting green measures like water and energy efficiency, biodiversity enhancement and better air quality made available for the students. More than 100 campuses have promised to be a part of this drive and make their campuses, certified Green. |
Global Virtual Training
The Climate Project Foundation welcomes the new members added to our 1000+ family of trained Climate Reality Leaders in India. We look forward to supporting you all in taking the message of climate change to the masses and trigger concrete corporate, government and individual actions.
Climate Reality virtual global training was conducted from 16th to 24th October which was joined by climate enthusiast from various field from across the globe. These people were trained by the former US Vice-President Al Gore and a team of world-renowned scientists, activists, innovators, and more. |
Rain Water Harvesting at Ambegaon, Pune
On Thursday 02 Sept 21, Climate Reality Leaders, Professor Fawzia Tarannum, Bhavesh Swamy and Sunil visited the four villages in Ambegaon Taluka, District Pune, to study Rooftop Rainwater Harvesting System under implementation in the villages.
The Climate Reality Leaders Shivam Singh, Fawzia, Col Shashikant Dalvi, Mr Anirudh Todkar from MAPs Industries interacted with the villagers about the implementation of the Rain water harvesting technology in the village. |
MoU with Gokhale Education Society
On 26th October, a workshop was taken on Climate Change and Sustainable Development Goals for 36 teachers of Gokhale Education Society.
After the workshop it was decided that an MoU will be signed between Gokhale Education Society and the Climate Project Foundation, under which the Education Society will be implementing Green Campus Program in their schools and campuses. |
