The tree identification was conducted by Dr. Smita Jadhav who explained the importance of the trees around the periphery of Shivaji Park. She also guided people to identify the trees by taking into account the leaf shapes, the structure of the bark and other details. The students carried a palanquin with 25 saplings of Tulsi plant, signifying the spiritual aspect of the tree plantation which were distributed amongst the people to spread awareness.

Then the tree plantation was done in the campus of Deccan Education Society where 27 trees of different varieties were planted. These trees were adopted by students who promised to take care of it.
